Fieldwood Energy proudly introduces its three-year Community Rainwater Harvesting Program, starting with installation of a rainwater collection system at Primary School in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico. This initiative, presented to state and local authorities, school staff, parents, and students, aims to tackle water scarcity in local schools by installing five systems annually in the most affected areas. With a $143,000 USD investment, the program will establish 15 systems by 2026, benefiting over 7,500 students each year and collecting more than 5 million liters of rainwater. Fieldwood Energy is proud to announce the launch of its three-year Community Rain Harvesting Program by installing its first rainwater collecting system at Rafael Ramirez Elementary School in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico. The presentation of the Program was attended by state and local authorities, the head of the school, teachers, parents, and students. During the inauguration, the system’s functionality was demonstrated, highlighting how collected rainwater can be utilized for various purposes, such as hand washing, cleaning, and watering plants, ensuring everyone understood the initiative’s objectives.
The Community Rainwater Harvesting Program aims to reduce water scarcity in local schools within the company’s project indirect areas of influence by installing five rainwater harvesting systems annually. These installations will be strategically placed in regions with water shortages, including the communities of Nuevo Centla and Barra de San Pedro in Tabasco, Nuevo Campechito, Col. Emiliano Zapata and Ciudad del Carmen in Campeche.
The program is designed to enhance clean water supply and promote water sustainability. It also focuses on strengthening the skills and technical capabilities of those who will operate the systems. Each year, these systems are expected to collect up to 300,000 liters of rainwater for technical use in schools.
The program’s implementation scheduled between 2024 and 2026 involves the installation of 15 rainwater harvesting systems with an investment of approximately $143,000 USD. These systems are projected to benefit over 7,500 students annually, collecting more than 5 million liters of rainwater each year.
