La Energía de un Pueblo, Vol. IV
Yesterday Fieldwood Energy representatives attended the launch of the 4th edition of AMEXHI’s emblematic publication La Energía de un Pueblo (The Energy of the People). The event was held at the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico (Cámara de Diputados) and brought together key representatives from the energy sector, including Congresswoman Rocío Abreu Artiñano, Chair of the Energy Commission. The book showcases how energy contributes not only to production but also to education, health, environmental care, and sustainable community development.
In this new edition, Fieldwood Energy presents its community and environmental programs in Campeche and Tabasco, highlighted as innovative initiatives with long-term impact:
Backyard Poultry Program:
The pilot program was launched in 2022 intended to support women and enhance family nutrition benefiting 100 families with chickens, coops, training and veterinary support. Families reduced household egg expenses by 60% while also creating opportunities for income through surplus production. Following these results, the program will be expanded during 2025–2026 either by reaching additional communities or by strengthening existing ones.
Ecosystem Services Workshop:
The workshops were initiated in 2023 and, since then, more than 900 participants have been engaged in training sessions on climate, water and biodiversity care, and the program will continue throughout 2025, expanding its reach and impact.
Environmental Volunteering:
Fieldwood Energy’s employees and contractors have been actively engaged in environmental volunteering since 2023 and continued through 2024. The activities resulted in the planting of 280 trees, the removal of 900 kilograms of waste, and the restoration of three kilometers of coastline, while continuing to play a valuable role in protecting ecosystems and local biodiversity.
Coastal Learning Communities:
A total of 624 participants have strengthened governance and technical skills through seven educational modules, launched in 2024 with the support of local committees to ensure long-term sustainability. The program successfully continues to date, building on its strong results and positive feedback.
Rainwater Harvesting Program:
Since implementing the program in 2024 five harvesting systems installed in schools are now providing clean water for 1,350 students, supported by local committees for sustainable maintenance. An additional ten systems are planned for installation in 2025–2026.
Together, these initiatives reaffirm Fieldwood Energy’s belief that the role of the energy sector goes far beyond production: it is about creating opportunities, empowering communities, and protecting Mexico’s natural heritage for future generations.
Fieldwood Energy congratulates AMEXHI on this important publication, which stands as a milestone of the positive impact that collective efforts between industry, government and communities can achieve.
